Austin Fleet throws shutout for Grizzlies

Grizzlies right-hander Austin Fleet threw a shutout Monday night against Colorado Springs, allowing just three hits while striking out seven. The outing was the first complete game of his five year minor league career.

Fleet began the 2014 season in Richmond but was sent to Fresno in the aftermath of the Edwin Escobar/Heath Hembree trade, in which the Giants acquired veteran right-hander Jake Peavy. Fleet has gone 3-1 with a 3.69 ERA in his first five starts with the Grizzlies.

Here's a nice article from on Fleet's shutout.

Skyler Ewing picked up his eighth double and seventh home run for the Salem-Kezier Volcanoes on Monday. Through 40 games, Ewing's .306/.425/.507 line is looking mighty impressive in the Northwest League.
