Carbonell clubs two home runs

Daniel Carbonell blasted two home runs out of Municipal Stadium on Tuesday night, adding to his already impressive beginning to his brief minor league career. The dingers were his second and third of the season, and second and third over a four-game span.

Carbonell also connected for two other hits and upped his average to .356.

Power hitters Tyler Horan and Brian Ragira also homered for the San Jose Giants. Horan's was his seventh sine joining San Jose on August 1 and Ragira's was his fourth in just 40 August plate appearances.

Tyler Beede made his fourth start for the AZL Giants, allowing three earned runs on six hits. Prior to Tuesday night's outing, Beede had only given up two hits and zero runs.

—19-year-old Julio Benitez continued to dazzle in the Dominican Summer League as the right-hander threw 4.2 perfect innings while striking out five. He lowered his ERA to 0.84 and dropped his opponent's batting average to .173.
