Blake Miller batting .348 with Flying Squirrels

2013 25th-rounder Blake Miller is already playing for the Giants' Double-A affiliate Richmond Flying Squirrels. He was recently named the San Jose Giants team Most Valuable Player, and has batted at or above .300 for just about every team he's joined.

Through 18 games (69 at-bats), Miller owns an incredible .348 average with the Flying Squirrels. The only player to bat nearly that high this season has been Matt Duffy — who is now a member of the big-league club. Not to say that Miller is as good as Duffy, or that Miller should be wearing a major-league uniform, or that Miller's average in less than 100 at-bats is as impressive as Duffy's was over practically an entire season. Miller beginning to his Double-A career, however, is worth noting, as is his versatility. The native of Oregon can play every infield position, though he's been playing a majority of second base in Richmond. Out of his 24 hits in 18 games, Miller has collected five doubles and a triple — good enough for a .431 slugging percentage.

Brian Ragira just won't let up. The San Jose Giants first baseman hit his sixth home run of the month, and third in his last five games. He know has 18 on the season to go along with 22 doubles and 73 RBIs.

Christian Arroyo has been a doubles machine in August as the shortstop picked up his 11th of the month on Saturday night. His 11 doubles and three home runs in August give him a monthly slugging percentage of .595.
