Almost two months without a walk for Strickland

It has been nearly two months since Richmond Flying Squirrels reliever Hunter Strickland has allowed a walk to an opposing hitter. June 27 was the last occurrence for the hard-throwing right-hander. In his past two appearances, both resulting in saves, Strickland has struck all six hitters he faced.

With a 40-man roster spot already secured, I think there is no doubt Strickland will be a September call-up. The only question is when, considering the Flying Squirrels are playoff bound and could use their unhittable closer.

Elliott Blair clubbed his first home run as a member of the Flying Squirrels. He's batting .275 in 20 games since joining the team.
