Johnson allows one hit, Williamson racks up seven RBI

BOX SCORES: SAC / RIC / SJ / AUG

Jordan Johnson took a no-hitter into the sixth inning of Sunday afternoon's San Jose Giants game against Modesto. He allowed a one-out single to shortstop Luis Jean in the sixth to end the chance, but finished out the inning unscathed. Through three starts, totaling 18 innings,  Johnson has given up just 10 hits and four walks, while posting an ERA of 2.00.

The offense was strong for the Giants, giving Johnson a large lead to work with most of the afternoon. Both Chris Shaw and Jonah Arenado homered for the second time in as many days. Shaw, after going 3-for-4, is now 9 for his last 24 and has his average up to .327 on the season. Arenado is also over 300 now, at .306 with his 3-for-5 night. C.J. Hinojosa added to the team's 18 hits with four, raising his average to .358.

Meanwhile, up to Tacoma, Wash., a second straight game was delayed due to rain. The game reached the sixth inning, so Sunday's game went final. Somehow, in just five innings, Mac Williamson racked up seven RBI in a career night that included two doubles. Both two-baggers went to the opposite field, splitting the center and right fielders, and were smoked (see videos below). Since returning to Sacramento from San Francisco, Williamson is 7-for-10 with three doubles and two home runs.

OTHER NOTES

— Richmond managed just three hits while Kyle Crick had another classic Crick outing. He walked five in five innings, but also struck out five and was pulled nearing 100 pitches after ending the fifth. The former No. 1 prospect has walked 139 batters in 168.2 innings over the past three seasons.

— Since Christian Arroyo left Friday's game early after being struck by a pitch, he has missed the last two games. No word yet as to his status.
