GreenJackets, down eight, complete crazy comeback

The Augusta GreenJackets were down 8-0 to the Lexington Legends, and there were still no outs in the second inning. Matt Solter was on the mound for Augusta making his third career start, and allowed eight runs on eight hits before recording his fourth out of the game. Miraculously, he was a crucial part of the victory. He managed to not only complete the second inning, but pitch three more frames allowing zero runs and only one more hit the rest of the way.

The offense began to peck away at the lead in the third through fifth innings, but it was the seven-run sixth inning that really made it a ballgame, giving them the lead by the time the half-inning was complete. The big blows were a pair of back-to-back homers hit by Dylan Davis and Matt Pare. Davis, who is slugging .490 this year, hit a two-run shot, his eighth of the season, while Pare's solo home run was just his fifth career in 347 plate appearances.

Johneshwy Fargas got things started in the big inning with a single, but found himself crossing home plate quickly after stealing second base, and eventually stealing home. He now has 12 stolen bases in 18 games since joining Augusta. Miguel Gomez chipped in with two singles, as well as doubles from Skyler Ewing, Shawon Dunston, Jr., and Jalen Miller.

Chris Shaw is unfortunately back into a slump after seeming to maybe break out of his last one. He is now 3-for-27 in his last seven games with 12 strikeouts. He is batting just .132 in June.

— The River Cats struck out 10 times are were one-hit by Cesar Valdez, but Mac Williamson did make this awesome catch to rob a home run.
