RHP // Keury Mella uses his heavy-sinking fastball to force an average of 1.75 ground balls per inning since he arrived in the United States in 2013. His command has been much improved in 2014, striking out more than five hitters for every walk he allows. His secondary pitches — a curveball and a changeup — have flashed plus potential with the Augusta GreenJackets. Mella even has the ability to up the fastball into the high 90s, but typically remains in the low-to-mid-90s range. All of this at the age of 21 is special.
