RHP // The 2014 NCAA national champion Tyler Beede is the most recent of the Giants' first-round selections. Beede remarkably gained 25 pounds of body weight after his freshman year at Vanderbilt, sitting now at 6'4", 200 pounds. The weight increase helped his fastball velocity rise into the mid-90s. Beede throws a power curve in the 82-84 range, as well as a changeup, which he says he throws with a two-seam grip in the low-to-mid-80s. A polished, three-year college pitcher, Beede has a chance to move quickly through the system.
