C // Just cracking the inaugural Giant Potential Top-30 prospect list is former LSU catcher Ty Ross. You'll see a bit of this 12th-round pick from 2013 in Spring Training thanks to his recent non-roster invite. Ross's numbers haven't popped yet in his first two seasons, spent in Arizona, Salem, and Augusta, but a full-season in San Jose usually allows a player to showcase his set of offensive skills. What Ross is mostly known for, however, is his catching ability. Ross was known to gun runners down with quick pop-times, with August Chronicle beat writer David Lee clocking Ross around 1.80.
